“Hey! I’m Carolina (Ka-rro-LEE-nah), a Colombian-American artist and Miami native. Back in 2016 I took an intro to metalsmithing class — like the ones I now teach here - and I was instantly hooked. After practicing for a few years I landed my first professional jeweler job and have been working in it since 2021.
It truly felt like alchemy the first time I soldered metal, and sparking that wonder in others has become my new favorite thing about smithing. Metalsmithing is an overwhelming craft to get into, but I’m of the mind that you can learn a lot without diving into a pricey workbench setup.
